History of The Parish of Jasień
The church in Jasień, which dates back to the 17th century, was built, immediately after Jasień was granted civic rights ,by a group of pious townsfolk. Nonetheless, it was not until three years later, precisely on May 27, 1663, that the church was consecrated by Jerzy Hutters from Lubben- the prelate priest of the area of Dolne Łuzyce at that time. Then disaster struck on August 28,1731. To be more specific, as a result of catching fire, the church, being mostly built from wood, was completely destroyed. Against all adds, two years later, the cornerstone of a new church, devoted to the Virgin Mary of the Rosary, was laid. Consequently, both the redesigning and reconstruction work was thoroughly completed in 1746. The following year, the church achieved its legal status. Last but not least, being Protestant from 1663 until 1945, the church of Jasień was converted into the Catholic church the moment World War II came to an end.

As far as the parish priests of Jasień are concerned, the first parish priest, who began his pastoral work, was Father Tytus Korczyk. Not only did he act in the town of Jasień itself, but he also extended his pastoral work in the twenty-three adjacent villages, which used to belong to the parish. As soon as he was transferred to Legnica in 1958, he was succeeded by a new parish priest named Father Zygmunt Głowacki. The parish priests who succeeded him were as follows: Father Benedykt Pacyga , who had been responsible for the parish since 1969 as well as his successor , Father Franciszek Ptak having been in charge of the parish since1978. The fifth parish priest, whose priesthood lasted twenty- three years was Father Jan Sidorowicz .

To bring you up to date, since 2002, prelate Father Roman Wróbel, who has the University degree of doctor, has been responsible for the parish. It was not until recently that Curate Andrzej Materiński was succeeded by a Curate Tomasz Trębacz. In addition, a retired priest- Father Adam Baran is still active in the parish.

At present, the parish of Jasień consists of nine branches with the two churches, being situated in both Jabłonice and Jasionna. The former is devoted to The Saint Ann, whereas the latter is devoted to The Charity of God.
